A 1500 Welsh language poem, on display in British Library 'Medieval Women' exhibition.

It explains how Annes, abbess of Llanllyr, commissioned the bard Huw Cae Llwyd to perform for a knight, in the hope he would grant her one wish - a pet monkey! Sadly, we don't know if Annes got her mwnci! 🙈🙉🙊

Was not forced, no. My mom had a Parker that I remember coveting as a child, to the point that by middle school she had gotten me one of the disposable Pilot ones, with turquoise ink. I loved that thing and used it to death. Didn't get back into pens again til my early 30s, though.
