‘Positive cascades could help accelerate change’: social tipping points expert on fixing climate crisis The world has been too optimistic about the risk to humanity and planet – but devastation can still be avoided, says Timothy Lenton

« Solar photovoltaic power is now in a phase of self-propelling global uptake with exponential growth of installed generating capacity, doubling every two years or less. Factoring in the cost of battery storage, solar is already the cheapest source of new power » www.theguardian.com/environment/...

Their roles are not optional. They are foundational to keep people well before they get sick. To eliminate them is not only short-sighted, but dangerous and disrespectful. The Holt gov't should be increasing funding to the front-line services provided by public health nurses, not eliminating them.

These Registered Nurses are the public health nurses who have led immunization programs, responded to disease outbreaks, run sexual health and harm reduction clinics, supported families through well-baby clinics, and delivered essential public health education.

‘Half the tree of life’: ecologists’ horror as nature reserves are emptied of insects A new point in history has been reached, entomologists say, as climate-led species’ collapse moves up the food chain even in supposedly protected regions free of pesticides

This is the moment of crisis, and we must move rapidly in a different direction than Carney and Premiers plan. “We’re talking about nearly half the tree of life disappearing in one human lifetime. That is absolutely catastrophic.”
