Ok but hypothetically what if we ran up on this and jacked and redistributed this food to poor people and migrants for free before the landowner had a chance to react.

I haven’t been paying attention so this may be illegal by now (does this count as evidence of a lack of mens rea in the event it is?) but can someone do a study on Black women & queer people being let go by their employers in the last year?

Actually that wasn’t fair/accurate. We’ve got a private practice dentist, corporate accountant and investment bankers.

I look up the board of curators/trustees for my state’s university system every once in a while (look, we all have our hobbies) and when I looked a week or so ago it was (still) all business owners and lawyers.

(Jk it was always violent, but it’s never too late try a little tenderness.)

Accidentally made myself cry in public last night and this guy with a serious and slightly curmudgeonly exterior took my napkin and started wiping my tears in the most earnest way. It was unexpected and very sweet and funny. Can we make America tender again?

Another nationally-known institution allowed the collection of citizenship status of (unknowing) relatives of identifiable participants. 🫠

I worked for a nationally-known institution where ethics professionals responsible for applying FDA regulations admitted to not knowing how to do so, and in at least one case I’m aware of, instructed researchers on how to re-write proposals to avoid FDA regulations.

FDA staff were reviewing Elon Musk’s brain implant company. DOGE just fired them. The cuts included about 20 people in the FDA’s office of neurological and physical medicine devices, several of whom worked on Neuralink.

Musk and his ilk want unregulated research putting participants and the public at risk. Many decentralized (ethics) offices and processes have already been compromised pre-Trump, and the FDA offices investigating noncompliance already understaffed.
