If the world wants to know what Trump has in store for Greenland, it just needs to look at Hawaii. Justified as defensively necessary, facilitated through economic pressure, legitimized by force. McKinley’s legacy, Trump’s aspiration.

One of his first symbolic acts was restoring the name Mount McKinley, over the objections of the state and Indigenous leaders. It’s fitting that William McKinley’s legacy supplants local sovereignty because that’s exactly what McKinley did in life.
That is the legacy Trump openly admires.

No one seriously pretends that Donald Trump wants Greenland for any reason other than ego. This is about branding himself as the “BEST PRESIDENT OF ALL TIME” in his own warped mythology.
Look at the president he admires most, and the motive becomes obvious.

What I read from this, was that the U.S. government supported wealth redistribution in Japan but not at home.

That theory would not survive judicial scrutiny. Misapplying the FACE Act this way risks making it unenforceable in future cases. If the Justice Department truly cared about religious freedom, it would not stretch the law beyond its text and intent.

A journalist being physically present to document alleged violations of law does not make them complicit in those violations. Selectively targeting one reporter where others were present raises serious First Amendment concerns.

A reminder amid today’s noise:

The FACE Act is about blocking access, not interrupting proceedings. It exists to prevent violence and physical obstruction — not to criminalize protest or journalism.
