Trump sues the media over less and they settle. I want to know why the Democrats can't do the same. The Republicans are using the media and stating that the Democrat's policy position is to give healthcare to undocumented immigrants. That is factually untrue. Why can't laws protect people from that?

The lie is that they're saying Democrats are doing it to give healthcare to undocumented immigrants. The Republicans are all saying it, and it is a complete lie. How can the Democrats even negotiate with someone who is straight up lying about the position they're taking?

If the Republicans are actively lying about the Democrat's position, why can't they sue every Republican who repeats the lies for defamation? Why can't they sue the media companies for promoting the lies the way trump does? Wouldn't it at least get them to stop repeating the lies.
