Due to… life (again), MtZ will be on a brief break. We’ll be back in mid August, once Cody has finally settled after a cross-country move and career change that took way longer than anticipated.

Once we’re back, I’ll be able to devote more time to recording/producing/editing.

As the person who handles the editing/production of the show, I have just had too much on my plate over that time to keep up with the show. We’ve got episodes recorded that I need to edit, including Ch. 11 of AtD, and an episode on David Foster Wallace with Johan Harstad.

Update time, everyone. I know we’ve been away a while, and I wanted to let you all know that we will be back soon. Long story short, I lost my grandma, unexpectedly had to put down one of my cats, and have a major plumbing issue, all of which happened in the span of the last six weeks.

Finally got around to reading Vonnegut’s final novel, Timequake. What a book to go out on. Funny, poignant, touching, full of hope but not afraid to confront the ugliness of the world. If you haven’t read it, I can’t recommend it enough. Or just go read Vonnegut. Any of it. He was brilliant

I can safely say that The Buffalo Hunter Hunter is the best work @sgj.bsky.social has done (which is saying a lot because I’ve loved everything I’ve read of his). It’s likely going to be my next bonus episode. Good Stab was such a great character and the dynamic between him and Beaucarne is superb.

I understand the expectations for my work under this administration: toe the line, don’t insult the Cheeto, get rid of all my LGBTQ+ and BIPOC characters (because DEI is BAD!), and under no circumstances use Spanish. With all due disrespect, fuck that. Gonna do it harder now.
