Working needle holds short section of a single chevron stitch about three inches across. Yarn is dark purple on purple acrylic needles. On the left some ends are visible where I joined a new skein in. My left hand holds the knitting.
First time trying single chevron and also joining new yarn! Now I guess I have to learn how to weave the ends in ๐

A dead tree thatโs been trimmed back to clear a hiking trail. The trunk is elevated amongst heavy brush with the cut end about 6 feet off the ground. The interior of the trunk shows that itโs been heavily eaten away by critters. The remaining pieces on the ground, not seen here, are also similarly eaten away.
Primary focus is a small tree leaning towards the left, and the lower three feet of the trunk has deep ridges, so perhaps something was tied around the trunk while it was growing. The ridged part is fairly thick with the rest up top thinner. Also in the image is the hiking trail to the left with lots of dying grass and small branches scattered around the ground.
A small rounded light beige mushroom with a very rounded top. I donโt know the type. The top looks like it has stretch marks. Itโs surrounded by dead leaves, twigs, and a few small green growths.
A butterfly in a field partly made up of dead grass and partly green weeds. The butterfly is primarily an orangey brown with four bright orange spots, six yellow and brown rings, and some white splotches.
Saw some interesting things on my hike today! It was cloudy and humid but Iโm glad I went ๐ฟ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐โ๐ซ๐ณ

Went hiking yesterday for the first time in awhile and I wish I were there again now instead of at work ๐
Iโve seen the bison here many times but this was my first time seeing the prairie dogs! Also saw several deer as usual.

Photo of my practice knitting project where I can currently doing stockinette with a garter border using medium purple yarn and purple acrylic needles.
To cope with current stress, Iโm learning how to knit! I still make mistakes of course but itโs been very calming.
