A closeup of an Echeveria plant. There's a flower stalk with yellow buds on the left. Just to the right of the center of the plant, we can see the beginnings of a second flower stalk.
Succulent update. It's still flowering, and it looks like more are emerging from the center!

08.02.2026 13:58 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It's been 10 days since I started the process of planting bonsai seeds, and I have a few sprouts. So far I have one locust and three pigeon peas. The locust actually started sprouting in my closet, where I had them sitting for the first few days to germinate. #bonsai
07.02.2026 23:54 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 1Televangelism has been a thing since the 1920s. One could argue that the goal should be to spread the word and/or to help people (though becoming popular could further the other goals)... but Christianity has always used whatever means are available to reach Christians and convert non-Christians.

03.02.2026 02:28 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Busy books are great for car rides, waiting rooms, or any time you need to keep little hands busy. I made this one relatively small, with the pages only measuring 7x7", which makes it easy for toddlers to hold on to and easy to pack in a diaper bag or backpack.

02.02.2026 20:16 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0This is an overview of the first #busybook I made. A lot of it is #handsewn, but the pages are all finished with a #sewingmachine, and with some alterations, it could be done mostly by machine.

02.02.2026 15:05 β π 4 π 1 π¬ 2 π 0That would be hard to do over social media, but if you have any small game stores in your area, they tend to have game nights, and might have a copy of Ark Nova available to play.
If you decide to buy a copy, I'd encourage you to buy from a local game store too. They are slowly disappearing.

Snacks laid out for lunch. There's pumpernickel bread with spinach dip, red grapes, mini naan, carrot sticks, kielbasa, and a tray of cheddar and swiss cheese and pepperettes.
Arc Nova day! This game takes us like 5 hours to play, so we plan ahead and get snacks to have for lunch while playing.

This is the cake recipe I use: www.inspiredtaste.net/25753/carrot...
With this icing: www.allrecipes.com/recipe/8379/...
The icing in the original recipe is great, I just never remember to buy the cream.
Cakes done, and I get to lick the cream cheese icing off the spoon because no one else is around right now, lol. The recipe is for a 2 layer cake, but I always make 2 single layers because my kid doesn't like nuts and raisins in his carrot cake, and I think that's a crime.
Recipes below.

The peels will be added to my bag of scraps in the freezer, to make broth later.
28.01.2026 18:33 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0A purple cutting board with a metal grater, a white measuring cup on top. Half the cutting board is taken up by a pile of carrot peels and ends. A peeler is half on the top right edge of the cutting board, on top of the peels. Above the cutting board is a glass container of carrot sticks and a white mixing bowl full of grated carrot. You can see part of the bag the carrots were in on the left. It's all sitting on a wooden table.
My partner's birthday is coming up, and I always make him carrot cake. I can't bring myself to buy just enough carrots when I can get 3lbs of carrots for the same price. So I grate what I need and cut the rest up for snacks.

27.01.2026 23:57 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Today, I started writing about the busy book I sewed. Then I had to find photos on dropbox... where *every photo I have ever taken* auto-uploads into one folder.
I have yet to emerge from dropbox. But here are some photos I found. Follow me if you want to (eventually) see how I made this.

I'm also trying to grow bonsais, which may be a little ambitious. If you want to see how that goes, you can follow me here or on my blog: www.orangeraspberrylemonade.com
