Best of luck to Dan Riccio who has decided to leave Sportsnet 650 for family reasons. Enjoyed his work on the talk shows and Canucks coverage.

Well the players would still be trying to win, but the personnel decisions would not be aimed to facilitate that to the max. It's not actually throwing games, it's not icing a lineup to necessarily win them. I don't love it either, but what's going on right now, will not produce playoff success.

Looking at quarter pole or so, rebuild conversations, how bout this. If Canucks are clearly (6-8 points or more) out of a playoff spot at X-mas, it's time for some serious losing. I have no love for tanking, but be dead last this year, Gavin Mckenna or whoever territory. Maybe finally lottery luck.

Noticed something about J.T. Miller's lethargic start as Ranger Captain. Not related to defensive hustle, or lack of it. Couple weeks ago Miller scored a pretty OT goal against Oilers, yet his response was flat. Barely a celly. Wonder if the end here has sapped/drained his enthusiasm for the game.

Abby Canucks don't appear to be on the way to a repeat of their AHL championship with a 3-11-2 record and a -41 goal differential. To be fair, many of their best players last year, have spent some, or a lot of time in Vancouver this season, with the parent club's injury woes.
