There is something special about being out early on a still, crisp morning, as if you might be the first person to breathe the air or hear the birds. When the cold air sticks in your nostrils and the ice makes you tred more carefully and appreciate every step.

I was gifted LOTR for Christmas when I was 11. It was the longest book I'd ever seen, over 1000 pages in my edition, and I remember being slightly overwhelmed by that but I devoured it. I still have that same copy on my bookshelf 40+ years later.
