Post on /r/transgenderUK entitled โReddit now censors LGBTQ+ content under OFCOMโs new โOnline Safety Actโโ
post text: โI honestly can't even think of words to describe how vile this is. Here's a screenshot of what I now see when I search "lgbt" with my VPN switched off. Occasionally a banner appears at the top of the screen saying something about needing to verify ID to access "mature content" but the button doesn't even work. The fact that we're now considered "mature content" makes me feel sick.โ
The screenshot referenced in the previous image, showing the results of a search on Reddit for the term LGBT. No results from LGBT-specific subreddits appear; instead, posts from /r/Conservative, /r/Islam, /r/JustUnsubbed, etc are highlighted.
the UKโs Internet age verification law has led to the effective censorship of all LGBT content on Reddit
what a shocking and unexpected turn of events!
Dear Friends,
This past weekend has been something rather special indeed. From all of us at the Talyllyn Railway we cannot thank you enough for coming to the Awdry Extravaganza 2025 - so many have travelled so very far to visit our little railway and we are so very grateful.
AWDRY EXTRAVAGANZA SURPRISE ANNOUNCEMENT
We've had a surprise arrival from the Island of Sodor today ahead of the weekend's festivities!
George the Steam Roller will be at Tywyn Wharf across the event, though we're not sure he's as enthused as we are for him to be here...!
