In terms of content, oh there's a whole bunch to go through, and if you're ever tired you can always skip the battles and watch the cutscenes.

Emotionally? It's gut wrenching at times when you think too hard about the ✨ implications ✨ and real world equivalents dbsndn

She is just barely beaten back, but the Ancients either go MIA or shut themselves away in their kingdoms. Looking back on it, the way that these Ancients react to the loss of that final battle are all pretty apt ways of how people deal with grief and trauma. Self isolation, denial, neglect. :(

One of the first things seen when you open the game is this *incredible* cinematic where you see the five Ancients fight against a new foe: Dark Enchantress Cookie.

Due to spoilers, I won't reveal what her deal is. All you need to know is she kicks ass hard enough that she basically crumbles them

These new cookies are known as the Ancients because...they have lived a really long time and are heralded as heroes for their duty in bringing peace and prosperity to Earthbread for what's hinted at being hundreds, maybe a thousand, years.

And then we get to the beginning of Cookierun: Kingdom....👀

YEP! Jailed away! Under a tree! With no way to escape. Guarded by a cookie in a far continent that's nigh uninhabitable. :'))))

So! What happens to the Soul Jams? That's where the Five Ancients come in! Five new cookies that represent new virtues: Truth, Resolution, Passion, Abundance, and Freedom.

Unfortunately these five cookies fell from grace, becoming corrupted.
And these five cookies became known as Beasts, each virtue twisting into something different: Deceit, Apathy, Sloth, Destruction, and Silence.
The witches took away half of their Soul Jams' power and sealed them away for...a while

Right??? 😂
Soul Jams are these amulets of power created by the witches and bestowed upon five cookies near the beginning of Earthbread's creation and habitation. Each one is meant to embody a virtue that each cookie was meant to lead with: Knowledge, Volition, Happiness, Change, and Solidarity.
