Final postcards of the day. Guy Madison was best known for playing the title role in the Adventures of Wild Bill Hickok on television. In Europe he made a lot of sword & sandal films.
Eve Arden began her film career in 1929 but perhaps her most beloved role is as the School Principal in Grease.

Back to vintage postcards with Paul Robeson & Rod Steiger. Robeson was in a number of films including Showboat were he sang Ol' Man River, once heard never forgotten.
Steiger was a great actor with In the Heat of the Night being one all my all time favourites as is No Way to Treat A Lady & Waterloo.

Final postcards of the day. Of Rex Harrison's catalogue of films; The Ghost & Mrs Muir is probably my favourite followed by the likes of Blithe Spirit, My Fair Lady & Dr. Doolittle.
Moira Shearer was primarily a dancer it was of course Powell and Pressberger's Red Shoes that brought her fame.

Back to vintage postcards. Peter Ustinov is one of those actors that just make you smile. Anytime he's in a film he just lights it up. Watched him in the Sundowners recently, every scene he cracked me up.
As to James Dean who knows what he could have achieved his three major films are all standouts.

Final postcards of the day. The colourised ones are both from Alexander Korda's production of the Thief of Bagdad (1940). June Duprez was the female lead. Conrad Veidt had played Cesare in the famous German film The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari. He was also to appear as Major Strasser in Casablanca

Back to vintage postcards. Cary Grant & Betsy Drake were married for 13 years. Betsy was in two films with Cary. Every Girl Should be Married & Room for One More. She wrote the original script for Houseboat for her & Grant but he wanted Sophia Loren whom he was having an affair with in it instead.

I bought these on Redbubble. Not convinced that they work too well with the large white borders. However I might buy some more.

Final postcards of the day. Charlie Chaplin and Gloria Stuart. Chaplin I'm sure we all know about. Gloria Stuart is of course most famous for one of her final films 1997's Titanic but was quite popular in the 30s too.

Back to vintage postcards. Doris Day in the film 'Lullaby of Broadway' and her co-star Gene Nelson from 1951. Nelson was in a number of musicals but rarely as the leading man. He was also in West Point Story, Oklahoma and Tea for Two.
