Instrumental powerpop created by Toronto musician Tim Cameron. Was once described as "Booker T & the MGs meet The Smithereens in Paul McCartney's attic". Occasionally spotted in the wild performing as T.C. Folkpunk too. https://cameronoise.bandcamp.com

I take it you mean Pete Traynor? That's cool! I never met him, but I've benefitted from his genius and hard work at thousands of gigs.
11.08.2025 00:51 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Attention east Toronto types:
Somebody has left a vintage Traynor cabinet on the curb near Guildwood GO station (on Westlake Road, just east of the station). It appears to be in great shape, just a couple of cobwebs and some dust. Built like a tank of course.
We've had a bit, but not enough. We're supposed to get drenched mid-week according to Environment Canada.

10.08.2025 14:04 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I think social media's time is up. It was fun for a while, but now it's like standing in the middle of a shopping mall on Boxing Day whistling one of my tunes and hoping somebody passing by hears it.
Also, as far as "creating content" is concerned, we already create content.
They're called songs.
Yikes!! Hopefully that's all behind you now.

Feel free to share, I bet a lot of people aren't fully prepared for the little loopholes.
I'm in.
When do we rehearse?
Single frame. Left to right: Skip containing statue, paintings, books visible on left. Man in white coat at top of ladder feeding book into open mouth of a huge robotic dog with studded collar and dog-tag โAIโ. Red bucket on floor below dogโs lowered rear. Second white-coated man says to onlooking woman: โItโs marvellous really. You just feed in all the intellectual property you can get your hands on without paying for it, then sell whatever comes out this endโฆโ
Too easy!
My @smh @theage cartoon.
I figured as much. I just think it's funny that nobody would think to type "by the way, point the guitar in the opposite direction" into the prompt or whatever it's called.

1/ Yesterday I got my first taste of what our new dental coverage is like here in Canada. When I received the paperwork and registration confirmation a couple of months ago, I was surprised that some of it came from Sun Life, a private insurance corporation.
Documents obtained by CBC News found Ford's government had studied tunneling under Highway 401, but quietly shelved the unreleased work in 2021. As Global News reported earlier on Wednesday, the work came to a stop after the province's internal analysis found a "potential for roadway collapse" and "risks to public safety." Ford said he "can't even remember what happened in 2021" and that the project now is a "fresh" start to mitigate traffic issues.
Sure, a government study found building the 401 tunnel might cause roadway collapse and put the public in danger, but donโt worry: the premier has already forgotten all about it. www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...
06.08.2025 16:12 โ ๐ 71 ๐ 29 ๐ฌ 8 ๐ 2Yeah, we're aware of the shortcomings of health and dental care down there. Most of us are hoping to avoid the same thing here, but there are a few greedy individuals who would stand to gain by screwing over the majority.
Same as it ever was, same as it ever was...
True dat!
06.08.2025 15:42 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0True, although I thought the NDP were pushing the Liberals for a dental plan that covered everything (as they have in Sweden, Denmark, Japan...) the same way OHIP does.
Or at the very least cover the full cost of a standard check up.
13/ So either the Liberals fumbled this one big time, or theyโre a lot further to right than they like to let on.
Again, my moneyโs on the latter.
12/ The other worrisome aspect to all of this is whether this whole โnation-dental-care-plan-through-a-private-corporationโ is a dry run for privatizing other things that are currently covered under medicare.
06.08.2025 14:40 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 011/ Will Sun Life cover the cost of a filling or two? Or will they do what any corporation would do, weasel out anything that might affect their profit margin so their shareholders will be happy? My moneyโs on the latter.
06.08.2025 14:39 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 010/ The drawback of that of course is that the longer time between checkups gives a cavity or two more time to take hold, so when that patient returns after a year, theyโre now looking at needing a filling.
06.08.2025 14:39 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 09/ The receptionist said that some patients are switching their visits to annually instead of every six months as a result of this policy.
06.08.2025 14:38 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 08/ I was there for 45 minutes, so if I return for a checkup in six months (as is recommended by pretty much every dentist on the planet), Sun Life will only cover the first 15 minutes and then the meter starts running for me to cover the remaining chair time.
06.08.2025 14:38 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 07/ Furthermore, since a visit to the dentist is charged according to a combination of what work was done, AND how long the patient was sitting in the chair having that work done, Sun Life only covers a total of one hour of โchair timeโ per year.
06.08.2025 14:37 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 06/ But Sun Life doesnโt agree, and believes those prices should be lower, and it therefore only cover what it feels the charges should be, even though the Ontario Dental Association has been setting and updating the accepted guidelines for decades.
06.08.2025 14:37 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 05/ The receptionist explained the discrepancy like so: the Ontario Dental Association has certain guidelines for the prices that should be charged for certain procedures, and all dentists in the province follow those guidelines.
06.08.2025 14:36 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 04/ Upon presenting my shiny new dental care plan card to the receptionist I was still charged for part of the procedure.
