I think it’s the best Burnout. The third one is the best looking but number 2 plays the best.

If Sega buys Microsoft, they'll make a really good Halo themed lightgun arcade game for non-existent game centers, and you won't get to play it because they will never port it to home consoles because they will be adamant that that will hurt their arcade cabinet sales.

Daytona's gear drifting is great, but it's sadly absent from Scud Race, I could never get the hang of it, like the drift would come off half the time, and the other half not, or just happen when I didn't want it. Although I haven't played that one nearly as much as the others, the cabs are rarer

Yeah, I had the same issue with Scud Race too... It's such a great looking game, and I really wanted to like it, I just couldn't get into it, especially the drift feel, I was far too spoiled by Sega Rally. I've never played Manx TT on original hardware, so I can't comment on that one.

Oh the Saturn/PC ports deffinitely have the best soundtrack out them all. Love that Japanese slap-bass for Power Games in the attract loop. And the fusion rock/jazz/metal in Conditioned Reflex, Desert Land, Getting Muddy, Ignition, and Reckless Running. Then the chill vibes of My Dear Friend Rally ☺️

Sega Rally 1 and Outrun 2 are my two favourite games of all time. I like them both much more than Daytona USA in terms of handling/feel... but I must say I love that soundtrack, Takenobu Mitsuyoshi's voice is always a delight. Then again, Sega Rally and Outrun soundtracks are awesome too.

Oh man this is so nostalgic. I think we need a DF-Retro on water aesthetics and water physics simulation from the 5th-6th gen console eras. No other technology has evolved faster than this. Ever.

That’s one thing I never liked about it… there’s a lot of unskippable stuff, not just in the intro… but after every goddamn event in the World Tour mode, waiting for your newly unlocked vehicle/polaroid snapshots to land into the screen space with stylish cinematics… one…by…one… like just go away 🙄

And also Sega Rally Championship. The original arcade game is playable on a PS2, or via PCSX emulator. It’s such a perfect game, once you get the hang of it, it’ll keep you hooked for decades (3 and counting).

Have you played Burnout 2? It’s not as visually as spectacular as Burnout 3, but there’s something very satisfying about the pure racing through traffic, pulling off drifts with ease and straightening up last minute just in time to squeeze between two traffic cars while you build up a boost chain.
