Principle cause of rear tyre over-heating was spin. But Ducati became so good at silky smooth weight transfer & sublime TC the issue appeared to be solved. So why not simplify things & drop the scoops?

Same a few years back (either Iannone or BatMav, I forget) when Brembo mandated their super big rotors, w/fuck-all rim clearance, for Austria. Front wheel got so hot the bead folded over a curb like warm butter and tire deflated RIGHT NOW.
Rotor thermal shields & scoops came shortly after 🔥😬
Wheel heated above safe T° hits curb -> deforms -> tire pops off -> hits MORE curbs.
Wheel heated by efficient tire bead conduction, but cooled by less efficient air convection. Hot air = MUCH less.
Can't lower air T° to increase wheel cooling, so lower tire T° via scoops to lessen wheel heating.
