My main problems with people disparaging fanfiction:
1. I agree that writing fanfic is a different skill than writing original fiction. This doesnt make fanfiction lesser.
2. I don't think you have to earn any money from your creative work to be considered an artist.
3. I think fanfiction is art.

the thing that stops me from being corny as fuck and saying "spek" in place of "god" is that inspekta would absolutely tell me to reply to the thread.

Sometimes I see people all but state that they believe "artist" is a position that is somehow ranked above regular people and I'm just sitting here like… actually I *do* think that "just anyone" can be an artist/author/illustrator/musician/etc. You can even be a fanfic author if you want.

Desperately trying not to get into an argument with an author about fanfiction. This is the artistic medium I have chosen to be passionate about.

I love Tamagotchi, even though I never had the original when I was a kid. I was happy that the new one had marine animals, but of course the shark would be "generic", and of course they emphasized the dolphin, hehe.

Oh my god the PayPal call was SO FUNNY. The guy on the phone was like "We don't allow processing payments for explicit material." So I hit him with "So if I were to go and purchase a copy of Game of Thrones online, my payment would be blocked?" I think it clicked for him then.
