This is incredibly disturbing and goes against every rule of war, international law, the Uniform Code of Military Justice, and the very ethic of the military. A disciplined military goes to every length to prevent civilian deaths and having a SecDef who doesn't care is unacceptable.

In advance of the upcoming Portland Association of Teachers strike, here's a reminder if you needed it:
When workers go on strike, don't get angry at the workers - get angry with the owners and administrators who forced a strike to occur thanks to their intransigence. They can end it, too.

you know they would be delighted to fire every teacher, break up the NEA, and then let for-profit private schools rehire those teachers at lower wages, right?

A poem by Langston Hughes titled "Tired". It reads as the following:
"I am so tired of waiting,
Aren't you,
For the world to become good
And beautiful and kind?
Let us take a knife
And cut the world in two --
And see what worms are eating
At the rind."
I've been thinking about this poem by Langston Hughes recently and although it was published in 1931, it remains relevant as ever.

So, this opens up what access for riders? The industrial area for now?
Is the plan to expand housing up in that area? Does a city usually provide access for riders before providing the actual destination?
