As Apple Vision Pro Turns 2 The Experience Keeps Getting Better Apple Vision Pro first shipped on February 2, 2024 with both Civ VII and Retrocade coming this week and a Dual Knit Band dramatically improving comfort near the two year mark.

Apple Vision Pro turns 2 today.

I think they added rings around Jupiter recently, one of many subtle updates that sometimes require a double take to notice.

Scott, thank you for keeping focused on VR fitness. A passion of mine as well. I travel for work and my Quest 3 is mandatory. I refuse to break my routine. My gym travels with me.

The Venn diagram is going to get pretty interesting as form factors come and go until the market finds mass adoption and equilibrium.

It’s an odd mix of bifurcation and convergence at the same time. Bifurcation into more specialized headsets, and a path toward some eventual level of convergence with consumer AR glasses becoming possible and useful, and MR headsets getting smaller and lighter, offloading battery and/or compute.

April Steam VR stats are out.

Biggest mover is Pico 4 with +1% increase from March. Price cut works.

Sony PSVR2 takes its highest share yet, increasing to 1.73%.

The divide between Quest 2 and 3 shrinks. RiftS still hanging on. Meta dominate PCVR share.

I’ve been giving a lot of thought to which apps and sites deserve my time anymore.

Today is 1 year since I began my VR journey. It's changed my life. Lost 30 lbs with Supernatural and other fitness apps. Work daily with virtual screens in Immersed and @metahorizon.bsky.social Workrooms. Watch content in huge theaters, or in outer space. Nothing is the same.

Meta seems to be working on a dedicated Photo Gallery app, codenamed hzosgallery.

This seems to be WIP as some things are broken and it can only be launched via Android tools, but mostly works.
