My first thought was the comparing value type against null warning Roslyn added over the old compiler, but I don't think you can bang (!) your way out of that.

Next thought is maybe R# or something complaining about comparing a non-nullable value against null and the bangs silence it?

If my brain thinks its important, usually it can't stop thinking about it until I've literally done or sent off an email about it. I've not found anything that works for me, let me know me if you find something,

This of course is "those in glass houses" sort of thing; and I abolutely agree, and trying to fix ours.

. @vscode.dev What happened here, I find it super hard to find the commands I actually want to click on this. 5 ways to split, probably unneeded?

You need to accept it for what it is; just a great time. When I stopped believing Mission Impossible's believability - they became fun.

I got the Breville touch and was pretty happy with effort versus coffee taste factor. Previously Jura (meh) and Nespresso (stuck on deserted island, last restort).

Sorry folks, I've been offline for a while. Help -> Send Feedback -> Report a Problem, choose Record option. Send me the link, and I can route.

You often jump on threads and say the opposite of what folks post?

It has to be done carefully as Microsoft also often get reverse feedback that we're trying to replace said thing, when reality is that they are just finally delivering Anders original vision from earlier 2000s.

However, what you folks have shown and agree with is that .NET should acknowledge existing community that there's still plenty of interest and their influence over eventual design.

Just distractions (Windows, NET Core cough cough) and shipping schedules got in the way.

If you look at early Silverlight announcements (WPF/E at time) for what ended became v2, you’ll see csx on it before Roslyn even was a thing. It disappeared from plans by time it shipped, however.

Patrik, don’t want to dismiss the work that ScriptCS and Cake have had on .NET ecosystem, but go back to look at Anders, Dustin, and Mads early demos of Roslyn to the world. I had nothing to do with the above, but when I was on Roslyn team above was always end vision from compiler folks with csx.

You are missing unimported namespaces and inheritance margin, both added since that post.

He was embarrassed when he realized as he didn't mean for us to see it.

This, however, is David's natural position in a meeting (or at least ones involving me), so you kinda had to get used to it. :)

One time during .NET Core early days, we were having a remote meeting with Fowler and another colleague of his. This was in the days when video meetings were a bit unusual. His colleague completely forgot he was on video and had a reaction like this to something I said.

I try to intermix interactions with folks that "yes" amongst the "no" folks to break it up. It's still super draining, though!

We (Visual Studio) ship with environmental branches but do so for stabilization reasons. Our "main", however, is always held at ship quality. At same time, we also rely heavily on "feature toggles".
