I end all this to say, fuck Alzheimer's for robbing people of their memories, and fuck those who aren't doing more to help those afflicted.

Particularly looking at those in Washington, DC, who will likely succeed in cutting health services for way too many American.

The last Thanksgiving she was around, I was tasked with driving her from the speciality unit she was staying at to my aunt's house. It was the same 5ish minutes long conversation, on repeat, for a 30m drive.

I told them I couldn't handle that again. That's not the person I grew up with.

A conversation in Discord led me to think about my grandma, who passed away (several years ago at this point) while affected by Alzheimer's.

It's such a rough life, not just for them, but for those around them. She'd call me her brother (not so bad) but would also forget who my mom was.
