MTA Searches Underground for Ways to Cool Sweltering Stations The transit agency may use geothermal technology to combat high temperatures as the number of yearly heat waves is projected to more than triple by the 2050s.

Geothermal technology relies on a pump system to tap into the earth in order to cool structures on warmer days and to heat them during colder weather.

With New Yorkers facing rising costs and struggling to put food on the table, I joined EmblemHealth to announce their $2M effort to expand healthy food access.  

Their investment in distribution events citywide will help New York fill the food security gap caused by the Republicans’ federal cuts.

I’m a Congressional Candidate. I Was Assaulted by ICE. An interview with Kat Abughazaleh, a 26-year-old Democratic House candidate in Illinois, who was violently thrown to the ground twice at a peaceful protest in Illinois on Friday morning.

As I told @newrepublic.com, "Once last week, twice today, ICE has picked me up and thrown me on the ground. Honestly, it doesn’t compare to what our neighbors who are trapped inside the Broadview processing facility are going through. They’re committing crimes against humanity there."
