Sheβs mourning the loss of her forest. But, she will survive and replant. But for now she mourns. Or so says my youngest son who refuses to believe sheβs burned alive.
We lost my oldest son to a reckless driver on 3/23/24. Still healing.

14.04.2025 01:35 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0So, I havenβt been feeling creative lately. Dealing with an anniversary of loss. I meant to be working on a tribute piece for my son who died on his motorcycle 3/23/24. I just couldnβt. So instead when I felt up to it I worked on this. Sepia fine liner pens, watercolor, and golden ink.
31.03.2025 09:23 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Didnβt know Caturday was a thing. Howβs this old drawing? Ink on 60# sketch paper. 8x10. #caturday #art
08.03.2025 18:32 β π 8 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0So Iβve been quiet for a while because I was struggling with this Gaia picture. I used ink fine liner, ink and brush, alcohol markers, and color pencils. But, i finally got to a point to let it go. #art #mixedmedia
04.03.2025 03:52 β π 11 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Thank you! Iβm working on a feminine version. More Gaia or goddess. Itβs like a painterly version of zentangle. And so much fun to stitch the different elements together in composition.
16.02.2025 16:09 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Black long haired cat. Sitting in among brightly colored flowers. She has a fluffy mane-like ruff and reddish highlights in her coat. This was line drawn with fine liner pen and color painted in using bottle ink and brush on smooth vellum bristol board. She is 9x12 inches. This was completed in December 2024.
This is the original sketch from a year previous to show how much Iβve improved. It was done with a combination of watercolor and ink. I abandoned this piece when I accidentally dropped a blob of green ink onto one of the flowers. Unlike watercolor ink will not lift off the water with a little patience. It pretty much stained everything. I had not discovered gauche at the time or I would have probably used that to cover the mistake. Instead I put it aside to revisit when I wasnβt angry about it. And, Iβm happy I was able to redo the piece with newer skill, technique, and better quality inks.
Hereβs an ink drawing of my childhood best friend. Isnβt she gorgeous? I always loved the red in her black coat. The second image is the original sketch from a year previous to show how much I have improved. 9x12 ink on smooth bristol.
16.02.2025 16:00 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I could totally agree with that. But sometimes the one we like less is the one that speaks to someone else. I prefer the original but can see your reasoning for the edit.
16.02.2025 15:30 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Eh, I fail as often as I succeed. Each new piece I work on is a learning process.
12.02.2025 21:26 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Thatβs beautiful. I havenβt gotten the hang of markers yet. Still trying because it fascinates me. I use fine liner pens, bottle ink and brush. Iβve only been successful with using markers for shadows and highlights. And signing really dark ink drawings. But getting better at practice.

"These people need a basic lesson in the U.S. Constitution. Elon Musk didn't create the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. The Representatives of the people of the United States Congress created the CFPB."
Something that seems to escape MAGA.
Iβll have to try that. Thanks

10.02.2025 08:55 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I did an octopus on a watercolor canvas board. It was very difficult for me to work. I was wondering if you found the one you use difficult or if maybe it was just the cheap one I used. The layer of pigment would lift off if I applied another layer on top. Even if fully dried. Took forever to finish
10.02.2025 08:53 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I tried to do a pangolin in sepia once with zentangle patterns on the scales. It just became too much. I like yours so much better.

07.02.2025 17:42 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Whatβs irritating me right now is people that dissed me for being a liberal are now like, βsee, I told you this would happenβ. Like they werenβt on board with this until recently. You can scrape the bumper stickers off your car but you know how you cast your vote. And, now you can live with it.

04.02.2025 04:59 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0This weeks watercolor practice. Iβd like to say this simple painting was easy. The first misty mountain I painted was. But, then I couldnβt replicate it. I have a hard time with this loose style of painting. Maybe Iβm used to seeing my pictures in line art. Doesnβt matter. Keep creating. #watercolor
