Getting the second spread done for the Forbidden Psalm scenario @forbiddenpsalm.bsky.social for MORK ORG. Looking tasty!

And that page is done. This time I stole inspiration from the back page lists of MORK BORG, where "Calling Code" pairs with a title font nicely. I've used "Typewriter Royal" again, to tie in with the header, even though its all jiggly now.

It's a tricky balance, aping your artistic heroes without going to far. MORK ORG is full of intentional nods to its parentwork; hopefully they come across as homage rather than hijack.

Next I dropped in a quote. @forbiddenpsalm.bsky.social used a cool 100% free font—"Potsdam"—in their mockup, so I used that again.

(Gothic fonts don't tend to have italics so I tilted the characters, but I don't reckon Gerard Lieftinck will ever find out cos he's dead)

Filters: Black and White, Levels, and Multiply layer effect.

I duplicated the "Void" text, rasterised it, and erased some bits to add the 3D effect.

(I kept the unrasterised version, there but hidden, just in case I hated the finished version)

Then I added an open source ruler image. @forbiddenpsalm.bsky.social technically uses inches, but I couldn't find a good one, and no-one will notice. Well, except all you lot...

I wanted it a bit more organic, so I converted "Stationery" to curves and fiddled with it.

Time to get a title on. I used Monk's Writing for "The" and "Void" and "Typewriter Royal Trash". MORK ORG has an uncertain mix of typewriter office and fantasy gothic styles, so this works nicely.

A bit of live layout for y'all today. @forbiddenpsalm.bsky.social wrote us a lovel MORK ORG scenario, and I'm just tweaking the layout to match the rest of the book. (I've stolen lots of their ideas, but here's a rough flow)

My feet are a reasonable temperature. My big toes are cold.

I found a naked, decapitated postman laying on the floor outside my house. Thrumming shurikens were embedded in my door, and my female dog had a boner; I was pretty sure NINJA BORG had arrived.

Both my shoes AND both my socks have holes at the big toe today. I'm a cool dude.

Even if you did roll the same ninja that's just cos it moves so fast it's in two places at the same time "And actually... Oh no, something just severed my head from my body and..." *Noise of head hitting floor"

In case this seems like criticism, it's not. It's awe. I don't think I've ever seen a creative vision pulled off exactly as planned, and with so little care as to what anyone might think or how much the word "boner" really belongs in any published work.
