I believe mankind has not changed since Judas "handed Jesus over" to the soldiers in the Garden. Pontius Pilate, the Roman governor asked the crowd if they wanted Jesus or Barabbas released, they'd ask for Barabbas. You can't legislate religion IMO. The Romans crucified Jesus, not the Jews.
