Of course it’s a thing cooked up and promoted by tech bros and VC types, people who think having an idea (a prompt) for something is the same thing as having made it.

Exactly. I din’t want my thoughts sanded down by a probabilistic machine, a fancy autocorrect, until they are essentially a polished average of what it guesses I want to hear. If you refuse to articulate a thought in your own words, the act of thought itself is going to get quieter and quieter.

Something I heard at work today: “we have to use AI to communicate our ideas because we can’t sketch like you do Nyil” like, dude. Either talk to me with words or do a shitty napkin sketch, I guarantee that will do a better job of communicating than letting a machine decide for you.

Use it or lose it. We’re going to see a lot of people letting their natural creativity and imagination atrophy.

Its absolutely wild how quickly people have utterly surrendered their ability to express themselves to generative AI x.x
