Since nitrous possession was criminalised, weekend mornings are no longer a glittering river of spent capsules, but you'll still hit the occasional ox-bow lake.

I'd have stopped playing Rise Of The Ronin quite some time ago, but my goodness... so many hats.

Any modern review-scoring scheme really has to dispose of 'Replayability/Lastability' and replace it with 'Hat situation'.

Original theatrical poster artwork for Blade Runner. A painted montage featuring Harrison Ford as Deckard holding a gun and looking intense, with Sean Young below him holding a cigarette. Futuristic cityscape with neon lights and flying vehicles fills the background. Tagline at the top reads, β€œMan has made his match… now it’s his problem.” Title β€œBlade Runner” in bold orange lettering at the bottom above production credits.

This would’ve been my first time seeing Blade Runner on the big screen β€” the original theatrical cut. The superior Director’s Cut was still a few years away. What more is there to say? One of the greatest films ever made.

Had a dream where the new Resi game was an absolute disaster, so much so that I did a genuine cartoon WHEWF upon waking and reality rushing back in.

Still not gonna pre-order, though. Nice try, algorithms!

(Revelations 3, though, I'd stump up Β£60 in a heartbeat)

I spent a fair bit of 2024 rediscovering stuff from 2014, just for the novelty of going back a decade. It was awesome.

If you want to sell me a next-gen console, just fill its games with loads more little boxes and pots and crates for me to punch into pieces as I pootle about the place.

I'm that easy to please.

Must've hit the full gauntlet four or fives time every day, but never got anywhere close to mastering flying disc.

Rise Of The Ronin doing that thing where you think, oh nice, the world is big but not *that* big, maybe I'll have a chance to collec-- SURPRISE!!! The map is actually three times bigger than initially appears. Sigh.

I think this stopped being the nice kind of surprise back in 2011 or so.

It’s difficult to overstate just how pumped me and my friends were for Batman in 1989. Just that teaser poster alone had us in giddy with excitement. Just as Roger Moore is my Bond, Keaton is my Batman. Looking back it’s all a bit patchy, but we didn’t care at the time.

Didn't get to bed until 3am, after finally seeing off one of the hardest tracks in the game (including some full, forced restarts). Was nearly at the track reset limit, too.

Proper jittery state. I was still a smoker at the time, so must've gotten through 20 rollies in that one sitting.

I was living in a hospital as a property guardian at the time, so: No internet, and no eyes on me bar the glow of the BT Tower looming through my window. Started at around 10pm, aiming to have a quick muckaround before winding down for bed.

I played every Trials game that hit console, but none hit quite so hard as Trials HD on Xbox 360 in 2009.

It's the only Trials game where I'd successfully completed one of highest-difficulty tracks.

Tom Hanks’ name may be above the title, but Joe Dante was the real draw. Like Sam Raimi, he was one of those directors that my film-loving friends and I gravitated towards. Apparently this originally had a much darker ending until Hanks was cast β€” would have loved to have seen that version too.
