Here come my spuds, rocket rocketing away. I only grow first earlies, there is no piped water on our site so I can’t water later in the season when main crops need it. Same problem with sweetcorn.

My biggest regret was not planting asparagus when I first took on a plot. I know I still can but I’ve had my plot for 25 years, just imagine the asparagus I would be enjoying this season.

Last year I saved my own sweet pea seeds and foolishly left them in a pot in the greenhouse. The mouse decided to scoff the lot but also hoard some in the greenhouse beds, and now they are growing. They can stay in the greenhouse, I would hate to offend the mouse.

My chillies just sit there, looking miserable, like I’ve said something offensive. Tomatoes grow like I’ve dosed them with speed!!

Salads are springing up. The first planting will go in the greenhouse borders, the rest will be potted on to eventually go out in the big wide world. Oh and I know the mustard is crammed in, old seed I didn’t think would germinate 🙄

I know some people take the Micky out of kintsugi but my beautiful big carved platter cracked, I’ve ordered some new kiln shelves and alumina hydrate, so rather than bin it, I saved it. At least now I can hang it on the wall in my kitchen.
