Walsall Council’s CSR programme delivers £26,000 worth of projects in first year
Walsall Council is celebrating the first year of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme.
Hours donated included dredging works to tackle allotment flooding: Heavy silt and debris were removed from Grenfell Allotments waterway by Brownhills Asphalt Tarmac helping to prevent repeated flooding and protecting valuable green space used by residents.

Manor Park allotments 'left to become wilderness'
Overgrown allotments in Manor Park are being given “minimal maintenance”, Newham Council has admitted.
Newham Council says site not easy to reach and lacked the facilities that others have and that tenants had been offered new plots at other sites. The consensus among allotment holders is the council is prepared to let the site go.

She has scooped a horticulture show’s trophy for the Best Junior Gardener for the second year in a row.
Penny, 9, who has her own 125 square metre allotment – it was a gift from Santa - retained the coveted trophy after entering an assortment of vegetables in 13 different categories in Higham Ferrers Tourism’s annual Horticultural Show.

The monthly cafe is being run by the volunteers behind the Highworth Community Larder project.
