The placenta: A disposable organ we can’t live without Tiny Matters Β· Episode

🧬 Ever wondered how something as bizarre and vital as the placenta evolvedβ€”not just in humans, but across the animal kingdom?

I had a great time chatting about the wild diversity of placentation (think: lizards, sharks, and more) on the latest episode of Tiny Matters.

before working on this episode, i'd never thought about the fact that male seahorses have placentas, and now I can't stop thinking about it

The Budget should include a massive and historic increase in funding for research. Not only is it needed, but we really should be poaching ever medical and scientific researcher from the US we can. Absolutely perfect timing.

For all the bad that is going on, one thing that I would like to see rub off on politicians is them saying things like "we will make mistakes, we wont be perfect, but when we do make mistakes we will fix it". Ofcourse in Musk's case, he won't fix it, but this phrase is new for US politics

This week the ARC should release Expressions of Interest outcomes for Discovery Projects.

Should be Wed–Fri. They’re not public, so my bot cannot track them.

The ARC should email applicants, and maybe tweet(?), to say outcomes are available in RMS.
