The ocean is not just a livelihood to the people of Gloucester. It’s family. It’s history. It’s identity.

The loss of the Lily Jean brings up the hardest memories for so many fishing families. My prayers are with them, with the loved ones of the seven people taken far too soon.

Last night, I joined the Massachusetts Nurses Association to honor Alex Pretti. He was the best of us—a selfless American citizen who dedicated his life to serving others. He died as he lived, helping protect a woman who had been pushed to the ground. May he rest in power.
