Corporatization of America went hand in hand with its de-unionization, paving the way to the ongoing authoritarian takeover.

"Rebuilding worker power by strengthening unions is not just good policyβ€”it is a democratic imperative in the face of authoritarian backsliding."

AI models that lie, cheat and plot murder: how dangerous are LLMs really? Tests of large language models reveal that they can behave in deceptive and potentially harmful ways. What does this mean for the future?

"A team of researchers found that some of the most popular of..AIs issued apparently homicidal instructions in a virtual scenario. The AIs took steps that would lead to the death of a fictional executive who had planned to replace them."

"The concepts of friluftsliv (literally: "open-air living") in which Swedes regularly unplug and seek out nature; stress-reducing activities such as forest bathing and deep-sleep retreats; and a holistic approach to life known as lagom..might make you feel better..."

In my experience, tenure-track professors are discouraged from speaking up due to the lack of tenure-related protections. As a consequence, when reaching tenure, most professors are already well-trained to comply and not to speak up.

Agree! A tenure is a relationship between a faculty member and their corporate university, where the corporation has control over the process. A union is a union of peers.

There is a difference between awaiting doom and preparing to face it. Collectively.
