A pretty Rock Dove/Rock Pigeon with a blue-gray and purplish body, gray and white wings with black wing bars, a dark tail tip, iridescent purple-green feathers on the neck and head, a white cere above the beak, and orange eyes. The bird was sitting in brown grass with green grass and plants around it, and there were other birds nearby.

My choice for today's bird is a common Rock Dove/Pigeon. When you look closely, you'll see that these birds have pretty, iridescent feathers and a white cere above the beak 💟💚

You can definitely have a lot of fun with the name! I've been to one of the festivals, and just pulled out my souvenir glass. It's usually held at B.R. Cohn Winery, which also produces olive oils (including virgin). One of my favorite wineries--I was a member when I lived in Sonoma County! 🍇

This Western Meadowlark has a bright yellow breast with a black V-shaped bib, a brown and black streaked back, and white outer tail feathers. It was perched on a white iron fencepost in a field of brown and green grasses. Seen at Tolay Lake Regional Park in Petaluma, California. These birds forage down on the ground so it's always nice to see one out in the open. They have a beautiful, melodious song!
