According to people who have said “your art reminds me of DHMIS” and stuff like that apparently the biggest giveaways is how I draw noses on human characters and literally any time I make a clock character ever

- I think I used my interpretation of the Lie Swatter host in Jackbox as reference for how to draw the flea body Bongo has, as despite I like them, I usually don’t draw anthropomorphic bugs. So my interp helped me out with how I’d draw that

Ok I think that’s all the random facts I had for now maybe I’ll come back to this if I remember something

On a final note without the party hat Bongo looks bald to me despite them having no hair. This also applies to Tim and Sabrina

- Something character related, Cosmo and Bongo I consider to be close friends. I liked the “calm and high energy friends” dynamic and I also thought Bongo was gonna be the last “Neo-Clock”. …Then the idea for Sal showed up but regardless that’s still a thing, they’re silly friends to me

(Btw I have no clue why it’s like that just for that upload from what I’ve seen, but it was how I first watched Bingo and it had the worst video and audio quality ever so yes on the future rewatches I did I watched a better quality upload which was missing that beginning part)

- Bongo’s clothes are made to be ripped and dirty to match the ”gross” look most things have in the short film. Also the party hat was inspired by a live performance segment in an upload of Bingo right before the actual short starts.

- Continuing with the whole flea thing, while Bongo isn’t based on any specific characters, they ARE based on the random fleas that appear. That weird green goo in the short film is also what inspired Bongo’s green, acidic spit

- Bongo is the only Neo-Clock with “organic“ parts. Yes their body is that of an actual (comically large) flea and it’s gross. On that note the flea body is lightly inspired by how Psychonauts 2 depicts anthropomorphic fleas

- Bongo’s eyes actually have a little inspiration from something unrelated to Bingo, that being the (somewhat unnerving) edutainment game, “Roly Polys No Nanokorobi Yaoki”. Which I like for it’s very weird vibes

- I watched Bingo (1998) 5 times (I think) in a row mainly to catch onto as many visual details as possible, yes I also paused it to look closer at random parts for reference

- Despite the props they’re holding in the original artwork, Bongo is not based on any specific character in the short film

Best example is me making Cosmo because “oh I like this so I’m gonna make a little character based on something to express my interest“ then out of nowhere I kept getting ideas for new “Neo-Clocks”.. had them all around the same time but I took longer drawing them bc I was still focused on Jackbox

Simple explanation it was my friend’s fault (albeit on accident and they had zero clue a month later my brain would be like “Hey I like this thing in general from what I saw I’m interested in it“) beat them with hammers (I am embarrassed)

My friend was like “hey I’m curious about this wanna look at YouTube” and I was like “sure” and the interest got into my brain like a worm a month later I would have NOT looked at it otherwise it is not my fault and was not my idea these interests have no connection I just like both somehow HELP MEE
