But… it kept defaulting to my old email (even though I changed my display name and had the alias already) in all sorts of stuff in weird little ways, like payments, sharing, and just now in Xcode. Finally a fix for that! 🥳🏳️‍⚧️

Apparently this is new as of like fall of 2024, so I guess I *just* missed when this was announced. When I started research for changing my name, the answer at the time was a pretty solid "not-possible". I already had an alias with my new name that works with the account, so it wasn't the worst...

I've had the same account with tons of purchase for years (decades?) and of course it was a variation on my old name. Here's how to fix that finally!

These policies censor artists engaged in lawful speech. Mastercard shouldn't be the gatekeepers of our digital freedom.
