I met with Kristina, a constituent of mine who is already hurting because of Republican cuts to health care. Because of these cuts, the costs for her lifesaving prescriptions and treatments have tripled.

I’m fighting for affordable health care because these high prices are unacceptable.

In the past 16 weeks, Republicans have only bothered to show up to work for 20 days.

We were elected to serve the people. Republicans need to end their vacations and get back to work.

At the same time millions of Americans are losing their healthcare and Trump is illegally canceling cancer research funding, Kristi Noem just bought two private jets for her personal use. The corruption from this administration is astounding.

I realize Mike Johnson’s vision isn’t so good, so let me show you what a “Hate America” rally looks like. 

Now open the House of Representatives back up so we can get back to work and reopen the government.

In case Donald Trump and Mike Johnson forgot, the history of this country is rooted in pushing back against authoritarianism.

Whether it’s fighting against tyranny in 1776, storming the beaches in Normandy, or protesting today, we will always stand against fascism.

Millions of Americans are about to see their healthcare premiums double, and over 340,000 people, including 20,000 here in California, could lose their jobs if ACA healthcare tax credits expire. That’s hundreds of thousands of families losing income, and millions more unable to afford coverage.

Yet Congressional Republicans are pushing forward with no plan except to tank the economy and leave working Americans behind.

It was an honor to join Meals on Wheels Yolo County and Meals on Wheels Yuba/Sutter to celebrate their new partnership — and to thank Sutter Health for their investment supporting seniors across our region. Together, they’re making sure no senior is left hungry or forgotten.

The House hasn’t voted since September 19 — more than a month ago. Congress can still vote on legislation during a shutdown, but Speaker Johnson and House Republicans have refused to bring the House back into session.

While Americans face skyrocketing healthcare premiums, they’re on vacation instead of doing their jobs. This crisis is preventable, if only they showed up to work for the American people.
