I swear, if most of them picked fruit on minimum wage for 1/20th of the time they spend WHINING about this online, they would cover the VAT and make a bit extra on top. 3/3

Third in Jim Osborne's SCG series on potential pension arrangements for an independent Scotland. This proposal could restore defined benefits second pensions and in time could lead to a complete reimagining of pension provisions for Scottish pensioners

I want to live in a Scotland where no child grows up in poverty.
Child poverty is falling in Scotland, because we’re choosing to act.
But only with the powers of independence, we can transform our society and end child poverty for good.

It is quite something to see much of what was once the mainstream right predicting, hoping for, braying for “revolt/revolution”.

Look at the John Hope Rules of 1833 and his later Stockbridge Rules of 1854.

Independence will happen when the support for it is sustained and a clear desire of the people of Scotland. The margin has to be sufficient that most of the losers accept it as well.
