Retelling (Pride & Prejudice). It isn't bad per se, it's just okay. The structure felt a bit odd. Perhaps I'd have enjoyed it more if it weren't quite as surface level. Though depth is not a necessity, it's preferable for me.

Slow burn-esque with consistent, entirely obvious yearning. Bisexual MC. Lesbian MC. Enemies to lovers in a secret, forbidden relationship (best friend's ex) kind of way. Minor characters stand out. No 3rd act breakup. Banter.

Me, 21% into reading a book: Ah, wonderful. Feels good to read a four.

Me, 35% -52% into reading that same book: Welp, nvm. How the mighty have fallen. Still love the shit out of that 21% though.

Please be mindful of the content warnings prior to reading this book. Fantasy novella, but one I didn't consume in one sitting as expected. It was more a slow dissolve. The cover is absolutely delightful. I am fond of the writing style.
