I had been swimming in the mornings w friends on Mondays, that’s why I started getting up at 4:30, but that Y is getting rid of their 7am lap swim bc it’s the least attended (it’s literally 4 of us, every week) and they need the lifeguard hour to cover swim team in the evening.

There’s nothing like being awake at 4:45 am to make you think “I could just run *after* work” even though it will be 20° warmer then.

Sometimes Monday starts with a run up to Miami County. (The air is soup. This could have been a swim)

And it was a reference to how they drive down country roads and swerve to avoid mailboxes on both sides (the fabric racks at Joann had a 5th center wheel, this was in:re sweeping the floor and getting under those racks)

The combine girl was ~20, and grew up on Dauphin Island. So..

When I was working at the Joann in Mobile on of my 18yo cashiers didn’t know how to use/hold a landline phone. Because she’d never seen one before.
I also had to explain to another girl what a combine harvester was, but that was my own fault for using it as a reference in a place with no corn.
