I was given this article at one of my Modeling trainings, either Chem or Phys and it completely changed how I teach. The problem I'm finding now is students don't have the "staying power" to stick out the confusion and are too quick to give up. Recommitting to helping them overcome this in the fall.

This is a VERY good thing. Rob listens to both sides and works with both sides to get things done.

Finishing up our momentum unit with “Air bag in a bucket”. Sts make a crash cushion to reduce the force on a heavy object. Think reverse egg drop. It’s simple and easy for them to see what they should do. One class, 2 designs, reflect on the physics. Use a force plate to measure F and t.

I like the bigger one too, I think it's shows the concept better IMO, but this is an alternative.

Yep! From what I remember. haven't used it since before lockdown. Air can't pass between but will "leave" when you open the other end.
