Pro-Rel in the USA: USL Announces Plans To Launch 'Premier' League In 2028 The United Soccer League revealed the name of its new Division One setup Tuesday morning, announcing that it will be called "USL Premier", with a targeted start date of 2028.

The OKC Energy gets a mention as being a possible USL Premier (Div 1) team when the league kicks off in 2028. “There is an expectation around the league that OKC Energy will enter the USL Premier as an expansion franchise.” - 12-team league to start off, expanding to 20, with promotion/relegation.

It’s going to be a very interesting weather weekend in OKC.

This could be pretty exciting if it pans out. As someone who volunteers for a large youth organization, I can confirm that there is a void of opportunities for kids to connect with other humans in person and to get to try out cool yet difficult things and learn it’s okay to fail sometimes.
