It’s also interesting that the MAPS4 stadium was advertised as 15K+ during the last vote on it (so USL Premier / Division 1 eligible) but now they are only saying 10K.

It will be interesting to see how the 2028 OKC USL re-launch with the new stadium will play out in light of all this. This is a good read that summarizes some of the issues.

We need NWS Norman and other local officers on here. The feed here is like Twitter when it first came out and was actually useful β€” in order and in real time. Please take a couple of minutes and fill out the survey by Monday! #okwx

21 point comeback against the Grizzlies on the road beats the Thunder’s previous biggest comeback of the year, which was a 19 point comeback on the road against the Grizzlies.

Well that was an fun SGA/Chet-less comeback for the OKC Thunder. Also, this win probability stat is kinda dumb.

Since SPC isn’t on BlueSky yet, I’ll share these fun β€œWrapped”-style graphics here. Here’s a look back at SPC product issuances in 2025. Stay tuned for a more thorough review of the severe storm season coming in the new year.

The first time I saw this list a few years ago I was shocked that oil/gas has such a small representation, but also pleasantly surprised at the variety. And it gets better all the time: OKC never really had a tourism industry in my lifetime and this is also a thing, now.

At what point will OKC step out and stop allowing it to be defined by Oklahoma?

Alright, which one of you asked for β€œproof of global warming” for Christmas? I’m not sure what year the old record was from, but breaking it by almost 13 degrees is impressive.

So what you are saying is that everyone else is starting to copy what the OKC TV market mets have done for decades (even pre-social media)? And there is one of those guys who, I swear, just makes stuff up sometimes.

Watching two NBA teams both shooting 37% for the game was still less painful than watching that OU shoot-self-in-foot playoff game. I will still take the playoff game over last season, though.

Minnesota has a top-tier Prince-themed basketball court. And they are giving the Thunder a game.

Well, at least we’ll get to see which trend continues: OU being able to take care of Alabama every time they play, or OU continuing their playoff losing streak and adding a fifth.

Chris Finch already ejected for anger issues. Minnesota is gonna have to rebound a little better of they want to stay within 20z

That interception TD return by Alabama coincides perfectly with the start of the Thunder-Twolves game which I was going to put on the iPad but I think it’s going on the main TV after that.

Nail biters have been the story of most of the season. But I’ll take that over, you know, being terrible. πŸ˜€

Those were more in line with my expectations for this game, but the defense is pretty good. (hopefully I’m not going to jinx us.)

A look at a successful real-time effort to reduce flooding in western Washington last week Looking at how federal science and water agencies work together in flood events. Also - flood risk continue in the Pacific Northwest while the rest of the country warms up.

Given tonight’s news the admin wants to disband NCAR, resharing my post from earlier today about the successful reduction of flooding on the Skagit R in WA state. NCAR does foundational R&D that enables my community to do the kinds of important work I talk about here. tinyurl.com/bdebat4m

This could be pretty exciting if it pans out. As someone who volunteers for a large youth organization, I can confirm that there is a void of opportunities for kids to connect with other humans in person and to get to try out cool yet difficult things and learn it’s okay to fail sometimes.
