i don't think i'll ever give up on doing art bc even at my lowest point i kept thinking about what i'd do if i gave up and it'd always circle back to something like, "well, if i gave up on doing everything else in life i'd have more time to do art" 😂😭 life of an artist lol

idk, going through an early mid-life crisis bc i recently started thinking "if not now, when?" when it comes to pursuing my artistic interests and goals 🫠 im not even that old lol, in my late 20s ✌️

ultimately i still want to pursue art in some way even just as a side job but with the way i currently work there's just too much i'm trying to do at once without a solid direction 💦 also not a fan of doing marketing (tedious) but its definitely needed so uhhhh gl to future me i guess? 😭

honestly after my current projects (botw zine, comic anthology entry) i think i'll need to take some time to rethink about what it is I want to do with my art and make more concrete plans for that o<-<

Just a quick update from the Twin Cities. (Please forgive the unsolicited message). THINGS ARE NOT BETTER IN MINNEAPOLIS. The media is mostly moving on, Trump is focused on other stuff, BUT NOTHING HAS CHANGED ON THE GROUND. More than 2,000 DHS thugs continue to roam the streets, abducting people 24/7, assaulting legal observers with impunity, and routinely denying 1st, 4th, and 5th amendment rights. Drones and helicopters are overhead every day. Hundreds and hundreds of terrified families have not left their homes since mid-December ... relying on the community to bring them food and help with rent and other necessities. (Those people are NOT violent drug cartel sex offending murderers, as DHS would tell you. Most are legal residents or citizens.) If anything, things have just become more stressful and intractable (think trench warfare as a suitable metaphor): The resistance is better organized and numerous, but DHS has become more clever and better at disguise... and the county sheriff's office is increasingly supporting them . Do not let anyone tell you that Homans (the new person in charge of the occupation) is making anything better. Do not let anyone tell you that 700 ICE agents leaving the city has made much of a difference; the remaining force (again, ~2,000) is still larger than the entire city's police force (which is legally unable to do anything). Please call your congressional reps ... especially if there is any chance the administration might listen to them.

The fact that mainstream media stopped covering ICE kidnappings in LA isn't because ICE stopped kidnapping (they didn't)

Or ICE slowed down (they have actually increased their tempo)

Or that resistance to ICE slowed down (it never stopped, it grew)

It's the "political showdown" that stopped.

hmmm took a look at it and Express looks more like,,,filters and genAI content rather than doing animations like animate 🤔 it's too different to even think about remotely using it to replace animate which specializes in 2d anim

But knowing them they'll release a new genAI thing in a few months 🫠

Crazy how FF12, running on ps2 specifically, still looks head and shoulders better than every game that’s been released since.

Watch in about 9 months they're going to launch a shitty genAI video maker to "replace" animate which it will never do bc generating videos is literally not what animate does!

I get that switching programs is hard and it's a shitty move by Adob3, but there needs to be an industry shift-

my conspiracy theorist take is that adobe is getting rid of animate bc they want to launch their own genAI video maker and they can't sell it if there are real animators still making things with animate

they're cutting off access to future human made work with this move
