For what it's worth, this is probably a 5-minute read. And unlike some of my more earnest and/or melancholy writing, this veers more toward levity and goofy joy. π

04.08.2025 10:17 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Hi everyone. I still haven't committed to this site. Someday I will. But here is my latest piece, including a picture of me hanging with one of my 6-7 favorite bands. What an absolutely thrilling weekend.

My 5 favorite bands on earth:
5. We Lost the Sea
4. Godspeed You! Black Emperor
3. Sigur RΓ³s
2. Hammock
1. Caspian
Fascinating! That is a very telling change indeed. Although we did also, while wearing this shirt, chant the following more inward-facing slogan to hype ourselves up before Bible quizzing:
"I am nothing... you are nothing...
God is *every*thing... HOO-AH!"
(The last word was sort of Pacino-esque.)
Does anyone remember seeing this T-shirt in the β90s? I owned one as a teenager, as did some of my fellow youth groupers. Well, you want to know the fun fact I learned this week?
Itβs a quote from 'Rudy'! They totally stole it!
My earbuds are my most valuable
material possession, & by far
the one I use the most.
At bedtime, I said "I love being your papa" to my 6yo and she said "I love being a kid with you! I have the *best* papa." Those sweet words actually came out of her mouth. I told her right away that she had given me a gift.
My kids *are* a gift. π
I guess I figured my first post in 2 weeks should probably be a certifiable banger.

(Don't think too much about that.)
This is me backyard camping with my sweet 3yo in 2022. today I take her (6) and her sweet brother (8) on a real camping overnighter! I love the vibes when it's the 3 of us enjoying a day trip, so it'll be even cooler having that last for 2 days. World's End, here we come!
19.06.2025 10:06 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Hi there everyone. Who's around here on the azure expanse? Any of my ol' Twitter gang still see my sporadic tweets here?
(And yes, I call it Twitter. And yes, I call them tweets -- even on this site. Old habits die hard.)
Anyway, I'm going camping with my kids tomorrow! I'm psyched for that.
I was on a podcast! First time ever. It was incredibly fun to talk about one of my favorite Coldplay albums. Check it out!

Thanks so much the mention, Josiah! Very cool of you to give me credit for this question. :)
Hope you're well, my friend.
As a kid, I remember riding Pirates of the Caribbean at Disneyland and thinking, "There's easily enough material here for at least 5 movies, each with a bloated runtime, that would make over 4 billion dollars in combined worldwide box office."

Hereβs what to do if you feel listless:
πΉGrab a pencil and write down a
πΉsequence of items or tasks,
πΉone on each line of a
πΉsheet of paper or a
πΉWord document.
Boom. Problem solved.

I can hear my kids playing in the living room and my GOSH are they creative & sweet. They're pretending their "kids" (which are Matchbox cars) are scared of a thunderstorm.
Innocence is the best thing on earth.
And curiosity.

Hi Bluesky friends.
I know this site is purer,
but I just can't quit that place.
I have a platform there.
It's hard to let go of that.
2025 has been insane, eh?
But my clarity makes it bearable.
Grateful for that (for now).
I've been blogging up a storm.
Maybe find my Substack.
Hope you're well!
You, my friend Hamilton, and my wife all responded in this way. And I don't have the heart to break it to any of you. Enjoy your innocence for a few hours longer.
