The other "failed" clones seem to be docile around him, the same way they didn't usual attack each other. He became an accomplished Phantom and the Pack Alpha.

Determined to overcome this, he chose to become one of the Phantoms. After all, their limbs were replaced with mechanical counterparts, offering a solution to his predicament.

Yet, every silver lining comes with its own cloud. While the clone was sentient and in every way a reflection of the old captain, his frail and deteriorating body posed a grave challenge—he was on the verge of losing his limbs.

After numerous attempts and meticulous refinements to the process, the scientific hegemony oh the EDL finally succeeded in creating a clone of the original captain that did not succumb to madness from the overwhelming burden of inherited memories and experiences.
