This is the second post Google has recommended on my phone as a top story, from this Xitter account that posts a lot of fake content and incorrect information. Kind of niche example of virality beating truth... but I guess it's just all content now.

The first thing I looked at on Grokipedia is a word-for-word rip-off of Wikipedia.

Of course, even without AI, every programmer has randomly thrashed about with code hoping to luck upon a fix, with only a vague notion of the problem. Because sometimes it works.

But ultimately there's no substitute for thinking it through. An LLM can't do that. All it can do is thrash about.

And also never forget that the behavior is guided in part by rules and context that is invisible to you. Hence the annoying, fawning apologies.

Honestly it sounds like you've fallen into the trap of giving more credit to large language models than they deserve.

It's such a bad idea that one of my first thoughts was to wonder if Russia or China or Iran or someone like that was behind it.

Did this successful effort to shut down a Jewish owned business in D.C. help any Palestinians?

Did it make Jews in D.C. and America feel more isolated and worried about their future and even their safety?

Yes.

Stealing and mocking are hallmarks of cultural appropriation. Exchanging recipes with neighbors across millennia is not that.

Calling a shared heritage "cultural appropriation" in order to isolate a minority is just bigotry.

Let's be clear, cultural interchange is not and should not automatically be considered "appropriation". This horrific and non-progressive view of the world is one in which you ultimately find yourself supporting maximal segregation and isolation.

It's also a form of hate speech to claim that Jews "appropriated" Palestinian cuisine, because it rewrites Jews entirely out of the history of the middle east, where they've lived for millennia and both absorbed and exported culture, including cuisine.

But even if that mattered there's no sign that any of the companies who's products had a negligible drop in exports had anything at all to do with the war effort.

That's part of why Jews will see this as pure bigotry.

In this case, Jews in D.C. now have less kosher places to eat, and these Jewish owners are out of business. Those are the main effects. As for Israel, some negligible percentage of exports are now not being exported.

So if you want to know if something is a pragmatic boycott, or just bigoted hateful blacklisting, you can look to see what affect it will have, i.e. who it will most affect.

Is it targeted against particular evil-doers? Or is it bad for an entire class of people (who are a minority)?
