I'm having trouble squaring the fact that the POTUS can call for the execution of political foes for political reasons, but if an ordinary citizen calls for the execution of POTUS for political reasons, it's a crime.

Before the midterms of 1866, President Andrew Johnson called his congressional opponents traitors and said they should be hanged.

Voters were so profoundly moved by his words... that they gave his opponents a supermajority in Congress, and the nation got the Fourteenth Amendment.

The best answer I've seen is that the Maxwell case was ongoing and therefore, of course, the DOJ would not be releasing anything while prosecuting. Makes sense.

Thanks. It appears there many files with many different unseal dates, or statuses...I suspect Biden's DOJ could have released something that likely would have started the ball rolling. But, I speculate.

I think I figured out the game. All biological life starts with competition for resources, usually based on violence. The goal is to evolve far enough that survival is ensured without violence before you eradicate your own kind. Humans on planet Earth remain a long way from achieving this goal.

FWIW, I see this order as a very encouraging sign for those who are hoping #SCOTUS *denies* the Trump administration’s application.

There would be no need to issue it if the administration had five votes on the other two issues; and this is perhaps the strongest argument against it on the third.

We see it. We're all awake. None of us know what we can actually do besides protest on No Kings Day and call uncaring elected officials. Give us some steps to take.
