Well, it is a good game. I wouldn't call any of the 3D Mario games bad, honestly.

If your personal “game of the year” didn’t make it on some game award show it really doesn’t matter.

You can still love that game & play it repeatedly. Don’t let anyone/anything get in the way of that over arbitrary award shows.

Award shows to me are just popularity contests.

I think the Mario RPG fandom in general has gotten pretty nasty over the years, which is unfortunate.

Personally, Chapter 7 and 4 are my favorites, but 3 is pretty solid as well.

Good grief, I'd hoped this kind of crap had passed by now...

There are series I've lost interest in over time. I don't really like any of the Paper Mario games past TTYD, or the Switch Pokemon games all that much, but I'm not going to go around saying those series should just die, because I think that's very disrespectful to people that still enjoy them.

Many people are very glad to see Mario & Luigi back, even if the most recent entry wasn't without some issues. It having flaws does not mean it shouldn't exist. That's a ridiculous statement to make, and one that I honestly find insulting, especially since it was a new studio's first attempt.

Quick rant incoming.

It gets me pretty peeved every time I see someone say that Brothership shouldn't exist, or that the Mario & Luigi series should've died with AlphaDream. Sure, maybe you're not a huge fan of Brothership, but that's not a good reason to stomp all over other people's enjoyment.

Casual reminder that every self-respecting classic Paper Mario fan should give this game a try.

The fact that AI is being used to impersonate people is messed up, especially in this kind of context since it also costs people work.

Without those features, it just looks like a rather ordinary spaceship, rather than a spaceship that doubles as a place to live, like in the game.

Yeah, those types could certainly use some more special attackers.

Something else I'd want to see is a non-signature physical rock-type move that's 100% accurate. Seriously, I'm sick of every physical rock-type move sometimes missing.

Yeah, I'm sure it's a lot to handle. Real life comes first.

I wish more people could appreciate this game, because I think it really excels in many ways, but at the same time, I can't necessarily blame anyone for struggling to get into it.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinions/preferences in gaming. This should be common sense, but it’s not. Relax. Your favorite game will always be your favorite game. This changes nothing.

Mario & Luigi: Brothership is now celebrating its first anniversary. Not only did it mark the return of one of my favorite series, but I believe it to be a truly great game at its core, even if a little rough around the edges in some areas. Here's hoping the series continues strong in the future.

I think people behaving like that is a big part of why all this negativity goes nowhere. Nobody cares to listen if everyone's just being a jerk about it. There's a fine line between genuine criticism and ragebait.

If I got paid every time some major studio stated that they'd be blindly pursuing gen AI, I'd be very rich. It's getting ridiculous at this point.

Like, we get it, there are indie games out there that offer a lot of value for their price and remain much more affordable than most of the industry, which is great.

However, that doesn't automatically invalidate every game that's more expensive. They still can be worth buying for some people.

You know, something I've seen a lot that kind of gets on my nerves is people using the affordable prices of Silksong and other indie games as a weapon.

"This costs 3 and a half Silksongs, so it's clearly garbage and there's no way it could be worth it."

Just give it a rest already.
