A white woman recently took to TikTok in shock after being fired.

She expressed surprise, believing perhaps that DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) hires were exclusively people of color.

However, a lesser-known fact is that white women are the largest demographic of DEI hires in the U.S.

I'm undiagnosed but have suspicions I may have adhd or AuDHD (not sure). I read slowly with my eyes, but my auditory processing is even worse. Just recently learned about immersive reading, so I'll try that. I have a Kindle as well, but I don't want to keep having to buy books from Amazon :/

I'm loving it here cause I started in booksky, so I want to see if I could connect with my people, Chinese Indonesian (Chindo). Why oh WHY when I look up "chindo" all I see are women advertising for hookups??? Huh??

Otherwise, the words on a page are just ink stains on paper. I can't comprehend without that voice in my head.

I'm curious to know what everyone's reading experience is like.

Follow up Q: When you see words on a page, do your brains automatically register what they mean? Like you're able to comprehend just by looking?

Cause for me, I have to turn on the voice in my head and read aloud (in my head) to be able to comprehend what the words are saying.

Hi #booksky- a Q for those who read via printed media and able to read multiple books a week: how do y'all that?

I love reading, and physical books are my favorite medium, but I read at a slug pace. I have so many books on my TBR, but on average, it takes me almost a month to read ~300p books.

I am nosy, though, so I'm keeping the app to see what happens tomorrow and how the algorithm behaves. The moment I see right-wing sympathy content, I'm burning it 🔥

Holding space to mourn what tiktok was 😔 Maybe it did rot my brain a bit, ngl. But I did really enjoy my time there. I'm not even in the US, but something about this new algorithm feels very icky.

I don't like it. I don't trust it.
