Friends, Romans, countrymen, lend me your....*attempts to wink at the camera, fails*

Behold, the Roman Dodecahedron Fleshlight! This was the most complicated and least practical silicone pour I've ever done. Never stop making high effort goofs!

YESSS!! Speaking of furry comics, modern fursonas as we know them were invented by Ken Coug'r (Ken Sample), a Black illustrator who started drawing furries in the mid-70's and was the first to really explore them as an extension of the self in the late 80's! He also has a very charming style imo.

If you use Al-generated code, you currently cannot claim copyright on it in the US. If you fail to disclose/disclaim exactly which parts were not written by a human, you forfeit your copyright claim on *the entire codebase*.
This means copyright notices and even licenses folks are putting on their vibe-coded GitHub repos are unenforceable. The Al-generated code, and possibly the whole project, becomes public domain.

People outside the UK may not realise that it has been raining NON-STOP, EVERYWHERE (save a few tiny reprieves of a few hours in one or two places) since DECEMBER. People outside the UK may also think "well the UK is rainy". Yes it is. But it's not like this. It is INSANE and we're all going mad

Anyone in the Eurozone area planning to do the Pokรฉmon GO Fest in Copenhagen this year? (June 12-14)

I'd kind of like to. Not been to one yet.

Yeah that's kind of part of the mix with this idea to take the experience of forums and make them more modern and remove the fragmentation in account/UX while still retaining the delineation into individual communities.

13.02.2026 00:06 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Essentially constraining peer interactions to community discovery (this is where the big ballache likely lays) and if you want to implement notifications.

12.02.2026 23:00 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 2    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

My idea here was to contain the fedi headaches by basicly giving you a virtual user on any instance you join a community on and using your home instance as an SSO provider with as much interaction being direct rather than peer as possible.

Anyway, thanks for reading. I'm sure someone's already done something like this that I've not heard of but that was my best social media idea.

12.02.2026 21:25 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 2    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

There's a bunch of stuff you'd have to do to enable instance portability both for users and communities of course but I'm not a federation expert.

Oh yeah, community profile ... you have to make it so that you can have a different profile in each community with maybe some defaults for easy joining.

12.02.2026 21:25 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Circling back to the centralised service. You could federate this without it being a massive ballache as Mastodon seems to be. Each community would have to be located on an instance, you'd have a virtual user there and a community profile and it'd use OAuth to verify with your home instance.

12.02.2026 21:25 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 2    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

I remember having more to say about it but that's the gist of how I'd conceived it and what you'd need to implement the basics. I did do some work on it but nothing I could demo (and it was 2-3 years ago). I dropped it due to the other reason I dropped Awooniverse, it's too much work for one person.

12.02.2026 21:25 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Each community would have its own moderators and a mod support ticketing system could be inbuilt since one would be required anyway for platform moderators to deal with communities breaking platform rules. Most moderation would be handled in community by the community though.

12.02.2026 21:25 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

What I came up with was a modernised forum. I imagined it as writing a microblog summary and a macro post behind it then other community members could get in on the conversation in the replies. This would be presented as a sort of cloud of summary cards with hashtag filtering providing topics.

12.02.2026 21:25 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

It would need therefore to be both web-accessible and have an app and be a centralised service (more on that later). None of that tells us what it would actually look like, I think my original conception was just sort of instanced Twitter but I wanted to move away from that.

12.02.2026 21:25 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

So Pobail (Irish for community or people in the identarian sense) was an idea to create a platform where you did all your interactions in various communities you were a member of (like Discord servers) but rather than being a walled garden its public elements would be searchable and indexable.

12.02.2026 21:25 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

There is of course the forgotten approach of just running a forum, I even frequent one for electric motorbikes. That doesn't seem to have any traction though and I suspect it's because of fragmentation, a desire to be on a platform, and them looking too old-hat web 1.0 with no centralised app.

12.02.2026 21:25 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 2    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Bsky is a slightly better Twitter and Twitter is not a place to build community. Messenger apps have the downsides of Discord (and subtopics are horrible, please unimplement). Mastodon is Twitter for people who don't understand Twitter. Blogs are for publishing articles, not building community.
