And I'm so glad the people in group therapy all reacted very supportive when I opened up about my OCD and the backstory. It was the turning point for me

On the contray, I'm just as grossed out by many things as they are, but every take is "O, you're proship. Please explain to me why are into [insert fic and art that squicks me]"

And even reading those takes that are not directed at me personally was like... passive smoking. It DID affect me

Like only because I thinks people shouldn't get death threats over fiction and arts and censorship has never been a good idea as history shows doesn't mean I *like* certain stuff.

Yeah. It's also easier to enforce my boundaries and curate my space in regards of fictional content. Because apart from the harassment antis also constantly bring up fictional topics that squick and even sometimes trigger me...

I don't know who needs to hear this today, but you are ENOUGH the way you are. Nobody is perfect. Judge yourself not harsher than you judge others. If you needed a sign - this is it!

And if you struggle to throw out yarn (or better give it away) you know you won't use, but are still nostalgic about - well you know what to do ;-)

Not that I don't do spontaneous yarn purchases anymore, but I have *reduced* them al lot!

Do the same when you struggle with decision diffusion! ("This ball of yarn could be so many things, but if I start to use it, it can only be that one thing!"). Make a photo of the ball, charge number, ect. and tell yourself you will get another ball after your project.

Take a photo, note the company or spinner, note the place where you have seen it and tell yourself you now know how you can get it again and promise yourself you will buy it later when you need it (spoiler: you *never* will need it *lol*, but don't say this to you in that very moment)

Saying this as someone who needed therapy in 2024 because I developed OCD over discourse. (I'm fine again, thankfully)

Right? I mean, it applies to many things, but personally I only realised how MUCH of a toll on my mental health fandom discourse took when I didn't see all those wild takes by antis anymore.

Like even if your TL is correcting people... you're still exposed to it and Boy it *does* things to you.
